The New Log College

The Log College of Syracuse, NY is a ministry of Christus Rex Reformed Baptist Church (CRRBC) of Syracuse.  Christus Rex is a church plant begun by First Baptist Church of Briar (Azle, TX).  This ministry is a four month, intensive training program designed to train men to become effective, Biblical open-air preachers.

There are many opportunities to be trained in the basics of street evangelism: Way of the Master, Open Air Campaigners training, the online School of Biblical Evangelism, Ambassador’s Academy, Go, Stand, Speak, various evangelism boot camps, and The Five Hundred.  What is needed is an in-depth program covering theological, spiritual, and practical training in street evangelism.  The Log College seeks to meet that need.

The Log College has a symbiotic relationship with CRRBC.  The College, in their almost daily evangelism ministry, will funnel those who are being called to salvation to the church.  In return, the student will see how a street evangelist can work together with a Biblical local church to do evangelism and discipleship.

After four months of training, the graduate will receive a Certificate of Reformed Evangelism (CORE) from The Log College and The North American Reformed Seminary (TNARS).  The credits earned at The Log College are fully transferrable into the TNARS program.

Graduates of The Log College will be able to:

  • Articulate a Biblical theology of the gospel.
  • Practice a close walk with Jesus Christ through the spiritual disciplines.
  • Prepare Biblical, exegetical sermons for the open-air or pulpit.
  • Confront unbelieving world views effectively with the gospel.
  • Joyfully support the work of the local church.
  • Begin a regular open-air evangelism ministry under the direction of their local church.
  • Understand practical issues related to open-air preaching.
  • Examine themselves regarding the call to full time ministry.
